Have you wondered who are the Nifty Needles? Wonder no more.

Starting in 2010, this group of women began knitting, sewing, crocheting and quilting.  We try to provide warmth and love to people through the talents that God has bestowed upon us.  We would like to invite anyone who would like to join us and we are happy to teach you or help you if you are a beginner.

Below is a list of our projects:

    • Knit hats and scarves for our Room In The Inn guests
    • Lap quilts for chemo or dialysis patients as well as those confined to wheelchairs
    • Flannel gowns for Carolinas Medical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
    • Interment gowns and crocheted blankets for the families of the NNICU babies that do not make it
    • Small quilts for the Pediatric Unit at Carolinas Medical
    • Hand-made bears for the Ronald McDonald house and our HUMC Community Christmas children
    • Helmet liners for our soldiers in Afghanistan
    • Pillowcase dresses for our missionary minister, Judith Banya, for two orphanages in Sierra Leone
    • Crocheted or knitted blankets for our babies baptized at HUMC

For a small group, we stay very busy doing our part, serving God’s people.  We share our outreach with another group like ours at Huntersville ARP, helping each other out.

We would love to welcome new members to our group.  We meet every Tuesday morning from 10:00-12:00 in the Fellowship Hall.  Donations are welcomed as well, including fabric and  yarn.
