Stephen Ministry

As part of its commitment to care giving in the congregation and the community, Huntersville United Methodist Church has an active group of Stephen Ministers. These caregivers are members of HUMC who have participated in many hours of training, continuing education and supervision. They are able to offer the gifts of a confidential, comforting, caring presence one-on-one to those who need support while going through various life transitions such as childbirth, job transitions, separation/divorce, chronic or terminal illness, and at other times when things might just get overwhelming. Stephen Ministers do not replace pastors or therapists, but they can provide trained, confidential and no-cost care for those in need.
