Victory (in Jesus) Garden growing fast |
|
About a dozen HUMC families with green or even slightly green thumbs have planted the church's first ever "Victory Garden" on space behind the white house (not the White House, the little white house on the east edge of the church property). The hope is that with some good gardening work, plus some more blessings like May's ample rainfall, we'll have a bountiful crop that can provide fresh produce for the North Meck Food Pantry (the food pantry is housed at HUMC) as well as some good eating for the farmers, too!). Gardening takes place most evenings and at various times during the day. Come by for an inspection tour when get a chance -- but no picking except by invitation! Contact Mona Kita (704-948-1069) or Missy Parker (704-399-8001) for more info on the garden |
