Discover Lent During "Thirsty Thursdays" |
 Have you ever found yourself giving up chocolate for Lent only to wonder, "why?" Have you wondered why we do the ritualistic things we do this time of year to prepare for Easter? Are you finding yourself "thirsty" for a deeper relationship with Christ? Would you like to learn great ways to live Lent and carry those ideas home to carry out with your family? Then please join us for this fun-filled multi-generational event on six consecutive Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. beginning Thursday, February 18. This event: - is free of charge (love offering will be graciously accepted to help cover costs)
- is for people of all ages (yes, kids are welcome - child care provided for the youngest kids if needed)
- will include live music provided by some of HUMC's talented musicians and vocalists
- will provide light snacks and drinks
- will include skits, videos, and much more
- gives all participants a devotional booklet as well as a "gift" each week that will help remind us of the Cross and its significance during Lent

 Our HUMC Preschool is excited about its 2010-11 school year! This month our preschool began offering tours in preparation for registration in February. HUMC Preschool will continue to offer 2 two-year-old classes, one on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as one on Mondays and Wednesdays. They will also offer 2 three-year-old classes on Monday/Tuesday/Thursday and on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday. A 4-day three-year-old class and 3 four-year-old classes will be offered Monday-Thursday. Hours will remain 9:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Registration will begin February 1 and will run through February 11. Priority will be given in the following order: currently enrolled preschoolers, siblings of currently enrolled preschoolers, church members, alumni of preschool, and then the general public. If there are more applicants than available spots, a lottery will be held February 24th.
